Went for a drink 14/01/24. Waited 10 minutes for 2 pints of butty Bach. Staff seemed disinterested. Furniture in bar was either wobbly tables or OAP leather sofas. Such a shame as a local I hear it was under new ownership but same old same old for this pub. Better pubs around for locals..

Lovely place to get away to from the city, great room great place to eat and the food is lovely, Excellent castle just up the road but have to travel a bit for more attractions, Phone signal is poor but they have free WiFi, Best to book attractions before you visit as we went late in the year and a lot were shut. Overall a wonderful few days away and plenty of walking done 👍🏻

Fan in family room . So thick with dust. And when switched on . All the dust went everywhere. The carpet at the bottom of the stairs to family room. Was discussing . So dirty. Bathroom crack sink. So bad it was dangers for grandchildren. Damaged shower mould. We came for sons wedding. Hope new own make alot of improvement.

Arrived and instantly met with attitude that made us feel as if we were not welcome. Dinner service was chaotic, incredibly poor food, consistently bringing out wrong orders and had almost nothing on the menu. Room we stayed in had black mould in wardrobe and the strong smell of damp. Thankfully only stayed one night, left without having breakfast because could not wait to leave. Avoid!

Only commenting about Sunday Lunch. Went a few weeks ago and it was amazing. Today the roast beef was really tough. So disappointed. They have a new chef and I wonder if he has insisted on using his previous meat supplier!!! The service was good, and Jo was marvellous. We did bring the food to the waitresses attention.

Overall quite a pleasant experience in this restaurant this evening I was a little worried after reading the reviews from five months ago but you don't need to worry I had the burger and chips and my friends had roasts we had a few drinks very dog friendly. Would have given it a five but for me a five is when staff have their hair up and clean fingernails as well

Absolutely no WiFi in the chalet rooms, and zero phone signal but that's too be expected for the area. Room a bit run down and felt damp, came with complimentary creepy crawlies but comfy bed and everything else you'd expect for a budget stay. Would have scored lower but the food in the on site inn was outstanding. Truly magnificent. Without a doubt single handedly the best Sunday roast, the best full English breakfasts and the best beef burgers I've ever had. Big portions and everything flame grilled (or something) to perfection. 100% would stay again just for the food even if the room was nothing more than a soggy cardboard box.

A very friendly welcome and a quiet hotel. Room felt like it needed a spruce up, with an upgrade to the furnishings. Bed was comfortable and all very clean.
